KUKA Service Robotics Paper Award @ ICRA'09 (May 2009)

Third Major Conference Award (!) The papers "The “DLR Crash Report”: Towards a Standard Crash-Testing Protocol for Robot Safety – Part I: Results, Part II: Discussions" by Sami Haddadin, Alin Albu-Schäffer, Mirko Frommberger, Jürgen Rossmann, Gerd Hirzinger from DLR and University of Aachen won the KUKA Service Robotics Paper Award at the 2009 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation (Kobe, 16 May 2009)


PROSE Award for Excellence in Physical Sciences & Mathematics (February 2009)

The PROSE Award for Excellence in Physical Sciences & Mathematics was given to the Springer Handbook of Robotics, which was also the winner in the subcategory Engineering & Technology (Washington, 5 February 2009).
The Handbook was the Springer bestselling title in engineering in 2008: 12 out of the 165 authors are affiliated with the PHRIENDS consortium
